Nebraska Commission on African American Affairs Notice of Public Meeting Pursuant to Nebraska Revised Statutes Section 84-1411, notice is hereby given to members of the Nebraska Commission on African American Affairs Commission and the public that a meeting of the Commission scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at The Mule Barn, Building 21, Metropolitan Community College, 5300 N 30th St, Omaha, NE 68111, in Room 112. Pursuant to Nebraska Revised Statutes Section 84-1413 (4), this notice hereby notifies members of the Nebraska Commission on African American Affairs Commission and the public that the minutes of all meetings, as well as any evidence and documentation presented or disclosed during open sessions, are considered public records. These records are available for public inspection during normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Commission’s principal office, located at:1327 H Street, Suites 306-308, Lincoln Nebraska 68508. Members of the public may also visit the Commission’s office to request copies of meeting agendas or access them online via the Commission’s website. Pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 84-1410(1), the Commission may vote to enter Executive Session, which is not open to the public, for the purpose of receiving legal advice or discussing sensitive personnel matters related to items on the agenda. Pursuant to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) the Office of the Governor does not discriminate on the basis of disability regarding admission to public meetings. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, by contacting the Nebraska Commission on African American Affairs at 402-471-9398. Requests should be made early as possible to allow time to arrange for the accommodation.
