Due to record numbers of concealed handgun permit renewals, the Nebraska State Patrol will be working on renewal applications in order of earliest expiration date to ensure citizens do not have an expired permit. Therefore, you may experience a longer than usual wait time to receive your renewal permit. Please be assured your renewal permit will be issued before the expiration date of your current permit. If you have not received your renewal permit two weeks before the expiration date, please feel free to contact the Nebraska State Patrol at (402) 479-4971 to check on the status.
