Per Governor Rickett's Executive Order 20-10, which went into affect March 27, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, health care professionals can begin work prior to the completion of a fingerprint-based background. Therefore, the Nebraska State Patrol office is NOT currently fingerprinting for the following applicant categories: Controlled Substance License; Emergency Medical Services (DHHS); Nursing (RN,LPN License); Physical Therapist (DHHS); Psychologist (DHHS); Wholesale Drug Distributors.
In addition, our offices are not fingerprinting individuals who need to be fingerprinted for out of state employment purposes.
For all other applicant categories, each individual needs to use discretion to determine if there is true need to be fingerprinted during this public health emergency, or if it can be delayed until Executive Order 20-10 is no longer in affect.
As Americans throughout the country do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) will modify the procedure for fingerprinting services to protect both the public and NSP personnel. Starting Tuesday, March 17, the NSP Troop A Office, located at 4411 S. 108th Street in Omaha, will require appointments for people in need of fingerprinting services.
