The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Public Health is holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed changes to regulations related to the Control of Radiation. These regulations are found in Title 180, Chapters 1, 3, 13, and 24 of the Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC). The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission requires Nebraska’s regulations to be compatible with their regulatory program as a condition of their continued relinquishment of regulatory authority for radioactive sources to the State of Nebraska. The majority of the proposed changes within the regulations reflect requirements by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
