(Lincoln, NE)- The Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from the Grand Island Police Department, conducted surprise commercial vehicle inspections today, Tuesday, May 06, 2008, in Grand Island. The surprise inspections target commercial vehicles that might not travel outside the city or pass through weigh stations as part of their regular routes.

LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) has awarded five groups funding to manage weeds and other overgrowth in sections of the Republican, North Platte, South Platte, and Platte rivers. Agriculture Director Greg Ibach said today the five projects, which will share $2 million in grant funds, are designed to improve the health of the river basins.
