We are very excited to bring you speakers who are on top of their fields. This year's speaker's include:

 

Beau Reid
Trajectory Healthcare

Nebraska.gov is pleased to announce that Beau Reid will be one of the featured speakers at the 2010 Partner Event.
 
Mr. Reid is an insurance expert who analyzes and recommends employee benefit programs for small and large businesses.  He represents Trajectory Healthcare, an organization committed to introducing integrated wellness solutions to businesses, with a mission to educate, identify and eliminate healthcare risk within employer groups.  Mr. Reid advises businesses on competitive wellness models to help contain their rising medical costs. 

One of the topics that Mr. Reid will discuss is how making information available online can benefit everyone.  His presentation will give a fresh perspective to eGovernment.

 

Rick Sheehy
Lt. Governor of Nebraska

Rick Sheehy was appointed Lieutenant Governor by Nebraska’s 39th Governor Dave Heineman, and was sworn into office on January 24, 2005. He and the Governor were elected by a record margin to their first full term in office in 2006.

As Lt. Governor, Sheehy serves as Nebraska’s director of homeland security, chairman of the Nebraska Information Technology Commission, presiding officer of the Nebraska Legislature, chairman of Nebraska Partners in Prevention and is involved in economic development efforts across the state. His experience as a local elected official and as a paramedic made him uniquely suited for the responsibility of coordinating Nebraska’s statewide homeland security efforts.

Sheehy has a long history of public service. He was twice elected Mayor of Hastings beginning in 2000. Before becoming Mayor, he served six years on the Hastings City Council, including four years as president of the council.

A native of Hastings, Sheehy graduated from St. Cecilia High School. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and later received certification as a paramedic from Central Community College. Sheehy worked for Rural/Metro Ambulance for more than 20 years, starting as an emergency medical technician and becoming Rural/Metro’s paramedic field supervisor. In 1987, he became the market general manager, a position he held until his appointment as Lt. Governor.

Lt. Governor Sheehy is a member of the Homeland Security Advisors Council for the National Governors Association, and since 2007 has served on the executive committee of the National Lieutenant Governors Association.

He is a past board member of the Nebraska Rural Health Association, as well as a FEMA Disaster Response Team member. Sheehy’s community involvement includes membership in the Nebraska Rural Health Association, Nebraska State Trauma Advisory Board, Nebraska Emergency Medical Services Board, Mary Lanning Hospital Foundation Board.

He and his wife of more than 25 years, Connie, have two children. Maggie is studying at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Joel attends the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Connie is a Lexington native who manages the Hastings Imaging Center.

Brenda Decker
Chief Information Officer for the State of Nebraska

Brenda Decker was appointed as the Chief Information Officer for the State of Nebraska by Governor Dave Heineman on February 4, 2005. Prior to this appointment, Brenda held various IT positions within the State for several years.

Brenda received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Doane College in 1989 where she majored in Business Administration. She received her Masters degree in Management from the same institution in May 2001.

Brenda is a member and/or chair of numerous commissions and councils in Nebraska State Government. She holds membership in numerous professional organizations and has a national certification as a Professional Manager from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers. She has served as the Co-Chair of the Security and Privacy Committee and an Executive Board member for the National Association of State Chief Information Officers. In 2003, Government Technology magazine recognized Brenda nationally as one of the top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers of Information Technology. Brenda was selected as one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2008 by Computerworld Magazine. In April of 2008, the AIM Institute honored Brenda with the Outstanding Community Service in Technology Award.
